ABSTRACT

Single case experiment has received considerable attention and debate in recent years because of its impact on the research and practice of the psychology. The present paper presents the most rigorous designs and statistical tests, which can be applied to single case experiment. The presentation is offered in a very sintetic and procedural manner by comparison of single case experiment with classical factorial experimental approach. At the end, this paper provides a case analysis example using single case experiment methodology in combination with classical experimental methodology to argue for scientist-practitioner perspective with implications for both fundamental and applied research and practice in psychology: cognitive aspects of reinforcements.

KEYWORDS: single case experiment, cognitive aspects of reinforcement.
