Abstract:

Each research domain's progress is determined by the quality of measurement. The study of working memory represents o very active field of research. In spite of this, its observed evolution is slow. One of the reasons which contribute to this slow evolution is the low validity of the instrumets used for assessing wokring memory. The main goal of this study is to review and analyse the strategies of validation of the tasks used in assessing working memory. In the second part of this article, the authors would like to present alternative strategies of improving the validity of the used instrumets, thus obtaining a higher efficacy and efficiency of research in this domain.
