Special Issue on
INTERPRETING
Submission deadline: January 1st, 2011
Topics
Cognition, Brain, Behavior. An Interdisciplinary Journal invites authors to submit papers for the forthcoming Special Issue (June 2011) on Interpreting. The aim of this issue is to bring together experts from the linguistic, behavioral, and social sciences to discuss conference interpreting with respect to its theoretical models, assessment methods, correlates, and consequences for performance, as well as to look at possible coping strategies and intervention techniques in the case of professional interpreters. This special issue should reflect recent advances and new perspectives in the field of interpreting in order to provide a platform to debate and integrate empirical findings across disciplines, methodological boundaries, and among contributors from different countries all over the world.
We would like to welcome contributions on theoretical, methodological and empirical research which discuss interpreting in one or more of the following ways:
-
Cognitive processes in interpreting
-
Meaning in the linguistic transfer from a language to another
-
Assessment methods
-
Aptitude tests for interpreter trainees
-
Stress management
-
Coping strategies for the professional interpreter
We hope these topics will stimulate constructive reflections and dialogue about interpreting.
The articles should be sent to the invited editor of this special issue,
Prof. Izabella Badiu, by email to the following address:
